Upon release, Black Ops Cold War received generally favorable reviews from critics, who praised its campaign and selection of multiplayer game modes, while criticizing its technical issues and lack of innovation. A public multiplayer beta for the game was also made live in October. Marketing for the game began in August 2020 and was done in different forms, including certain Call of Duty content creators receiving slide projectors, puzzles made to be solved online by fans, and a website showcasing historical Cold War events. However, the development suffered from disagreements among the two teams, resulting in Activision placing Treyarch in charge of the game's development in 2019, with Raven acting as a co-developer to them. The game was originally developed by Raven and Sledgehammer Games and was not intended to be an entry in the Black Ops sub-series. For the Zombies mode, Treyarch introduced several changes to the mode's core gameplay and the new "Dark Aether" storyline, which acts as a sequel to the "Aether" storyline that ran from 2008's World at War to 2018's Black Ops 4. The game's multiplayer introduced new game modes as well as new map dynamics and elements, carrying over some design choices introduced in 2019's Modern Warfare. ![]() Its story centers around a pursuit of the alleged Soviet spy Perseus, whose stated goal is to subvert the United States and tilt the balance of power toward the Soviet Union. The game was released on November 13, 2020, for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.īlack Ops Cold War is set during the early-to-mid 1980s of the Cold War, beginning 13 years after the events of Black Ops. It is the sixth installment in the Black Ops sub-series and the seventeenth installment in the overall Call of Duty series, serving as a direct narrative continuation of 2010's Call of Duty: Black Ops. These two smaller maps are primarily used for Resurgence and we can likely expect them to be utilized in a similar manner next year.Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is a 2020 first-person shooter game developed by Treyarch and Raven Software and published by Activision. At Call of Duty Next, Raven confirmed that it is bringing back both Rebirth Island and Fortune's Keep in 2024. However, players still yearn for the old maps and yes, they are coming. We are getting a massive new map called Urzikstan in December which will also bring over a ton of Modern Warfare 3 mechanics such as the improved movement and more. There have been a few other new maps like Vondel released for Warzone 2 in the last few months which is a significantly better pace than the first game. The likes of Verdansk were wiped off the map in the middle of the first Warzone's life, but every map from the game was eventually erased in favor of starting anew with Al Mazrah in Warzone 2. One of the things that fans were upset by when Call of Duty: Warzone 2 was released was the removal of fan-favorite maps. Call of Duty: Warzone has had to find a delicate balance between what fans love and new content in order to make sure it continues to grow and doesn't stay stagnate. However, some fans don't like how much the game changes. ![]() Since its release, it has gotten multiple new maps, major crossover events, and even a full-blown sequel which is rare in this genre. The game came out of nowhere in 2020 and became a worldwide phenomenon, largely being able to capitalize on the fact that it's a free game that was released during a period when people were stuck at home. Call of Duty: Warzone has evolved a lot since its inception in 2020. Call of Duty: Warzone will soon bring back the iconic map known as Rebirth Island. There are many, many more options for creating RMarkdown documents, but the best approach to learning RMarkdown is to first learn how to build simple documents. The steps below will help you build a simple RMarkdown document. “How the **** did I actually do that analysis?!!?”Īn overview of the process from within RStudio You, the student, get a fully documented process by which you performed an analysis for future reference, a metaphorical trail of breadcrumbs by which you can answer the time-honored question all analysts eventually face: I get a consistent, easy-to-read and evaluate document that includes your R code, the results of that code, as well as the rationale for your R analytical pathway, and your interpretation of your results. The second reason is one of convenience for me as the instructor, and you as the student. Because one of the easiest ways for you to learn R is to see examples, RMarkdown documents provide a great way for me to post - and you to see - “clever” answers to R coding problems. Other students and colleagues, one of them being perhaps more clever, might find a more efficient approach to a R coding issue. You, as a student and researcher, will find a personal solution. A first reason is that as you begin your R programming adventures, you’ll quickly learn that no “right” answer for implementing R code to meet an analysis objective exists. However, I now require RMarkdown as the means for evaluating coursework. MS PowerPoint or Word have been the most common. Historically, I’ve accepted just about any format for answers to exercises, quizzes, and tests in courses Iteach. Hopefully some of the advantages as outlined above answer this question.īut another, pragmatic reason relates to classes, especially mine. From this point forward I’ll call documents integrating R coding RMarkdown documents so as to distinguish them from other types of Markdown documents. However, command–line code from Plain Vanilla R, which is still used by Curmudgeonly Dinosaurs like me, can also be used to generate Markdown documents. It can be, for all intent and purpose, your research metadata.Īlthough not a necessary requirement, it is easiest to configure and generate Markdown output from within RStudio. ![]() Think about this for a moment in your role as a research scientist: By using Markdown you can fully replicate the analytical processes that underlay your research, showing the code you employ, the output it generates, be it numeric or graphical, plus text explanations about the analytical processes of your work. This is addition to the text formatting mentioned above. In the case of R, and Markdown as an example of a document Markdown language, it provides a means to embed - and actually run - R code from within a single document, all using simple syntax coding. html format for browsers or many different text formats. Formats are fairly flexible, including output in. You “markdown” text, including, for example, document formatting such as boldface, headers, lists, and mathematical symbols and equations, pictures, links to other files or webpages - in short, just about anything you see on a webpage, journal article, or book, can be constructed using Markdown. It evolved as means to embed formatting syntax into a document and have it rapidly and easily converted to a desired format. Markdown still involves embedding additional elements into a document, but has a slightly different purpose. For example, by clicking the “REVIEW” tab on a MS Word document you initiate a “markup” process where a reviewer’s comments and editorial suggestions are shown on the document. A document markup language is a way to distinguish basic text from other document elements, such as those that occur during an editorial review. Markdown is a form of document markup language. ![]() Sorry - being in the UK, I could hardly believe what I've read about this particular ClearVue dust-collector. They might find themselves not only not getting covered, but dropped by their insurance company for having one of these. I would hate to be someone filing an insurance claim if one of these units caused a fire. If a company doesn't want to do things right, and ensure they are following regulations and so forth, they have no business selling products. That's what it takes to do this sort of thing. ![]() Think about about how much money companies like Festool spend to get their products UL certified, and thru similar organizations in various countries. Kits and Plans, etc to help people get function for less cost are great, but if anyone or any company sells/promotes doing something that is unsafe, it's a quick way to have regulation kill it all off.Ĭompanies would sell us lots of stuff if they could just sell us anything and shift any liability/accountability off to those who buy it. If other similar products cost more, this is the sort of reason why. ![]() If it cost more to make it safe, that is what you do, end of story. You can make a lot of products much cheaper if you throw away safety from the design. If the product just broke, or damaged other components, that is bad, but the real issue is the safety of people and structures involved with this situation. Adding documentation alone very well is not enough to mitigate legal issues. They are selling something that can cause severe damage, they know this condition exist, and are doing nothing to mitigate/advise on it. This isn't a miss-use of product situation. It has a straight up direct path to a loss of structure or worse loss of life. From what I can see, Clearvue should not be selling this product as is. It doesn't matter if someone comes out with something cheaper if it's unsafe. Your comments go back to things like cost. They may be in a similar situation, but have at least taken the first steps to reduce risks. Giving people an option to create a hazard is not a good situation for any company to take. I don't know enough about the situation to know if it's apples to apples. It sounds like Oneida has taken some effort on this issue to address it. I think this thread alone already cost Clearvue much more than the $600 that they have refused to cover. I thought Clearvue was a much more reliable company than that. That's mom and dad shop's approach to customer service. They are not owning this issue, they made their customer pay for the new motor and couldn't even provide a detailed explanation on why their own product needs to be operated in a certain way. I'm honestly shocked at Clearvue's response. I'm completely familiar with the start/stop cycle limitation on powerful DCs, but it must be stated in the manual. I'd be furious if it happened to me and would demand free of charge replacement. Seriously? So you are completely fine with the owner's response and the fact that had to call the motor manufacturer to find out what exactly happened? Do you find it acceptable that he had to pay for a motor replacement for a motor that started a fire due to lackluster documentation? His unit was still under warranty if I'm not mistaken.
